Christmas is a happy time for many people, but, for others, it simply heightens their sadness.
For anyone who has recently lost a loved one, anyone who is going through a divorce or a relationship break-up, Christmas can be the loneliest of times – even when you are in a room full of people.
Depression and sadness are feelings which often lead to people avoiding interactions with others and avoiding social gatherings – which leads to isolation and further unhappiness.
It becomes a vicious circle.
